Nathan Timbs

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Nathan Timbs is a postdoctoral research associate at the National Security Data and Policy Institute. Broadly, he uses quantitative techniques to study the intersection of conflict, climate, and human rights. His current research focuses on rebel groups' use of governance strategies to engage diverse sets of actors in conflict environments including civilians, states, IOs, and fellow rebels. 

He received his PhD and MA in Political Science from the University of Iowa, and his BA in Political Science and Arab Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
